Madhuvanthi Dhamodaran

Paediatric Gastroenterologist

Madhu is a paediatric gastroenterologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where she cares for children with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. She completed her medical degree in the southern part of India and has trained and worked across leading children’s hospitals in the UK since 2010, including Birmingham, Southampton, Portsmouth, Norwich and Cambridge.

Madhu has contributed to research throughout her career, contributing to national studies such as ELFIN, PREFER, NEONIN, Bioresource and PRIME.

She is currently a co‑investigator in a Europe wide project examining the effects of steroid therapy in children with inflammatory bowel disease.

Madhu contributes to the department’s translational research programme through sample collection and is actively involved in clinical trials for children with IBD.
